A woman standing barefoot on a wide, even green lawn with her back to the camera, looking out past two tall shade trees and a row of rounded shrubs toward a wooded ridge and a glimpse of water below, with a brick house and covered porch at the far left and low sun across the grass.

When Fertilizing Makes Sense

The lawn, a few trees, the shrubs along the house, or all of it.

Nothing has to be going wrong out there. You'd just like it looking better than it does.

You might have:

  • A lawn that's thinner than it used to be
  • A lawn that's fine, and you'd like it greener anyway
  • Shrubs out front that have looked tired for a while
  • A big shade tree you'd like to keep around for a long time
  • A bag you bought and never got around to putting down
  • A yard you've fed yourself for years and would rather hand off
  • A business or a rental where the front lawn is the first thing people see
  • Other work already booked with us, and you'd like this done while we're there

Would Feeding Make a Difference?

Not sure it'd make a difference? Have us look before you decide.

Sometimes it would. Sometimes it's one part of the yard and not the rest. And sometimes it isn't worth doing. David will tell you.

What to Expect

Nothing gets quoted until David has looked at what you want fed.

When he comes out, he looks at the lawn, the trees, or the shrubs you're asking about, and the shape they're in.

He also asks what you'd like them to look like.

If feeding will help, you get a price for it and he tells you what's included.

If he doesn't think it'll help, you'll hear that instead.

You decide from there. If you want to go ahead, we set a day and come do it.

A man walking up a driveway and pointing high into the canopy of a big multi-trunked tree, a woman in a work shirt walking beside him with a clipboard and looking where he points, with a low brick house, a lawn and clipped shrubs behind them.

Fed Once, or Kept Up

Have it done once. Or have us keep it up. You don't have to sign up for anything.

Some people want the yard fed the one time and that's it.

Some people would rather not think about it again, and have us come back and keep it up.

Either one is fine. Tell us which you'd prefer when you get your quote, and you can change your mind later.

A lot of the time, feeding gets done while we're already at the property for something else. If we're coming out for the lawn, the beds, or the trees anyway, mention it and we'll quote it with the rest.

Want new shrubs put in, or a bed redone? That's landscaping, and you can ask about it on the same visit.

Lawn Care

Mowing on the list too?

We mow, edge, trim, and blow off the drive before we leave. Ask for lawn care along with the feeding, or on its own.

Learn About Lawn Care

A freshly striped front lawn runs to a crisp edge along a concrete driveway, a large tree shading the left side and a white-haired man standing at the top of the drive by a brick house.

Tree Trimming and Pruning

Got a limb that needs to come off?

Dead branches, growth over the roof, or a tree that's gotten out of shape. That's trimming, and David can tell you what should come off and what should stay.

Learn About Tree Trimming

A man on a lawn shades his eyes to look up at a broad, well-shaped oak whose lowest branches stand clear of the roof of a pale yellow two-storey house beside it, with a board fence behind.
A woman in a quilted vest stands on a mown back lawn with her hands at her sides, looking across a curved bed of clipped boxwoods and purple flowering shrubs to a white board fence, with a maple at the left and wooded hills behind.

Property Care

Rather have all of it kept up by one company?

Trees, beds, lawn, gutters, and fence lines, looked after on a schedule that works for you and your property.

Why Work With Us

Fed where it'll help. Left alone where it won't.

Our work on trees, lawns, and properties around Greater Chattanooga goes back more than 25 years.

When David comes out, he's looking at what you've got and listening to what you want it to look like.

Want the lawn fed and nothing else?

We'll quote that.

Want the trees and the shrubs done too?

He'll include them.

Not sure the yard needs any of it?

Have him look first.

Sometimes the whole yard could use it.

Sometimes it's the shrubs out front and nothing else.

And sometimes the answer is that it doesn't need feeding at all. He'll tell you that too.

The goal is a yard you're happy looking at, without paying for work it didn't need.

Out On A Limb For You is an insured Georgia LLC based in Flintstone, Georgia and serves customers throughout Greater Chattanooga on both sides of the Georgia-Tennessee state line.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about fertilizing

Do you fertilize trees and shrubs, or just lawns?

All three.

Lawns, trees, and shrubs. One of them or all of them, whichever you want done.

Do I have to sign up for anything, or can I have it done once?

Either one, and you say which when you get your quote.

How do I know if my yard needs it?

You don't have to work that out on your own.

Ask us to come look. David will look at the lawn, the trees, or the shrubs you're wondering about and tell you what he sees.

Sometimes feeding will help. Sometimes it won't, and that's the answer you'll get.

When's the right time to fertilize?

That depends on your yard and what's being fed, and it's part of what David looks at when he comes out.

He'll tell you what he'd suggest for your lawn, your trees, or your shrubs. Then you decide.
