David will come look and tell you what he'd do first.
What We Do After a Storm
Getting the property safe and usable comes first.
Once the weather has passed, we can:
- Take a tree or a big limb off the house, the garage, or a car
- Clear what's across the driveway, the walk, or the yard
- Get a tarp over exposed roof damage while you line up the repair
- Take down what's left of a tree that isn't going to make it
- Haul the limbs, the brush, and the wood away
- Put together the quotes and paperwork your insurance company asks for
Where We Start
If more than one thing came down, tell us what's in your way first, and we'll start there.
Often that's the driveway, so you can get the car out.
What to Expect
We look at what's holding the weight before anything gets cut.
A tree that's come down isn't just lying there. It's resting on the roof, or hung up in another tree, or bent over and holding.
So before anyone cuts, we work out what's carrying the load and what moves when it comes off.
We look at:
- What the tree or limb is resting on, and how much of its weight is on there
- What's still hanging in the tree above the work
- Where the power lines are
- What's underneath: the roof, the car, the fence, the beds
- How we can get to it, and whether the ground will take equipment
Some of it is done from a bucket. Some of it is done by a climber working from up in the tree, and on those jobs nothing heavy comes onto the property at all.
Where equipment does have to cross the yard, we put mats down first and go back over the ground when we're done.
The goal is to prevent damage, and where we can't prevent it, we do our best to put it right before we leave.
When the work's finished, we rake the area and blow off the drive and the walkways.
David will walk you through how he'd approach it when he comes out.

Working With Your Insurance
We give your adjuster what they ask for. The claim stays yours.
We can give you the quotes and paperwork your insurance company asks for, and work alongside you and your own insurance agent while you sort it out. The claim itself stays between you and your insurer.
What an adjuster asks for depends on the adjuster. David has worked with a lot of them, and no two have wanted quite the same thing. Same company, similar job, different list.
So when yours tells you what they need from us, we'll put it together.
If the storm did something that isn't our kind of work, we'll point you toward somebody who does it.
Fences, Gutters, and Whatever Else the Tree Hit
A tree rarely lands on nothing.
If there's a fence under it, we can take the tree off and put the fence back. One call, one company.
Learn About Fence Repair and Installation
If the gutters are packed with what the storm knocked loose, we can clear those while we're there.

The Trees Still Standing
Wondering about the rest of them is normal.
Once one tree has come down, you look at the others differently.
Ask us while we're there. David will walk the property with you and tell you what he sees.
Sometimes a tree that took a beating is fine and will be fine.
Sometimes there's a split or a hanging limb worth doing something about, and he'll explain what he's looking at and why.
If a tree does need to come down, or a broken limb needs taking off, those are ordinary jobs and we quote them like any other.

The Storm Year Around Here
Storm damage here doesn't keep to one season.
Spring brings the tornado weather and the hail. From June on it's mostly wind, and a full canopy catches a lot of it.
Late summer can bring what's left of a tropical storm up from the Gulf. November has a second, smaller run of tornado weather. And some winters, ice.
So somebody answers the phone year round.
Why Work With Us
The tree is usually not the hardest part.
There's the insurance, the cleanup, somebody to see about the roof, and a week you hadn't planned on spending this way.
Long before this storm, we were working on trees and properties around Greater Chattanooga, and we have been for more than 25 years.
When David comes out, he'll tell you what he'd do first, what can wait a few days, and what he'd leave alone.
Just want the tree off the house and the driveway open, and you'll take it from there?
We'll quote that.
Want all of it dealt with, the tree, the cleanup, the fence it landed on, and the estimate your adjuster asked for?
We do that too.
And sometimes what looks like a disaster from the kitchen window is a smaller job than you're braced for. He'll say so.
Then we do the work and get out of your way.
Out On A Limb For You is an insured Georgia LLC based in Flintstone, Georgia and serves customers throughout Greater Chattanooga on both sides of the Georgia-Tennessee state line.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about storm damage
Will somebody answer if I call at night?
Yes. We take storm calls around the clock.
Call or text (423) 443-4533 and tell us what's happened and where you are.
Can you tarp the roof now and deal with the tree later?
Often, yes.
Getting the roof covered is usually what matters most that day, and it doesn't always have to wait for the tree to come off.
Whether it can go first depends on what the tree is doing and whether it's safe to get up there. David will tell you when he sees it.
Will you work with my insurance company?
We can give you the quotes and paperwork your insurance company asks for, and work alongside you and your own insurance agent while you sort it out. The claim itself stays between you and your insurer.
No two adjusters ask for quite the same thing. Whatever yours needs from us, we'll put it together.
One of my trees is split but still standing. Will you take it down?
If it isn't going to make it, yes.
Ask us while we're there. David will look at what's left and tell you what he sees. Sometimes a tree that took a beating is fine. Sometimes there's a split or a hanging limb worth doing something about.
If it does need to come down, or a broken limb needs taking off, we quote that like any other job.
