Who the Guide Is For

Anybody looking after a place with trees, a lawn, or beds around here.

A yard with a few trees in it.

A bigger property with more going on than you can keep in your head.

A place you've just taken on and don't know yet.

You don't need to know anything about trees or landscaping to use it. It's written in plain language for the person looking after the place.

If you notice something out there and aren't sure whether it matters, or whether it can wait, this is the first thing to check.

What's in the Guide

Four seasons. Three short lists for each one.

  • Worth doing. The few things that tend to need doing on a property around here at that time of year.
  • Worth a look. Things to notice while you're outside anyway, so a small problem gets caught while it's still small.
  • What can wait. Jobs people tend to rush that are better left until later, and why.

Everything on the "worth doing" lists is work you can do from the ground. Where a job means a ladder, a roof, or cutting anything of size, the guide says so.

The guide walks you through common seasonal checks for trees, lawn, landscaping, and other parts of your property, so it's easier to catch problems early and plan ahead.

It's written for the Greater Chattanooga area, on both sides of the state line, so the timing fits the year here. It's a PDF you can print or keep on your phone.

The cover of The Chattanooga Property Care Guide: the title set large in white on a deep green panel, under a short lime rule, above the line "A season-by-season checklist for trees and grounds in the Greater Chattanooga Area". Below, on a pale band, a slender branch runs across the page with its leaves turning from green to gold, with the Out On A Limb For You logo beneath it.
